About Me

I have more than a decade of experience developing, troubleshooting and rolling out large custom motor drive systems for heavy industry and mining.  This includes active rectifiers, sensorless field oriented control of AC induction motors,  and generator field exciters.  My systems are on everything from massive draglines and 200 ton diesel-electric haul trucks to underground transporters and cooling fans.

I specialize in designing and programming drive control system hardware using embedded C, Verilog, and assembly on various microcontrollers and FPGAs.  I develop high performance motor control algorithms in Matlab with Simulink and have extensive experience modeling complex systems.  However, I also develop user interfaces to the drive systems using various languages such as C#, Python, Java, Javascript, and SQL.  If it can be programmed, I can do it.
